Every puppy born at L'Milmo de Luxe is raised with dedication, experience, and endless love. During their first weeks, they are carefully nurtured in our home, exposed to everyday family life, and introduced to new experiences at a pace that supports their healthy development. We are committed to providing each puppy with the strongest foundation for a happy and successful future.

Puppy socialization and ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE

Our puppies are raised in a family environment, where they are introduced to everyday household noises and stimuli from an early age. From 10 days old, they are gently exposed several times a day, for short periods, to various sounds such as thunder, children’s voices, and fireworks, helping them grow into confident dogs that are less sensitive to sudden noises later in life.

They have access to a separate, safely enclosed artificial grass “nursery”, which they begin to use from around 4 weeks of age. This area includes sensory enrichment toys and an adjacent building with an air-conditioned rest room and grooming area, providing a spacious, secure, and stimulating environment where the puppies can develop comfortably close to their mother.

During their time with us, we also work on familiarizing the puppies with different surfaces, car travel, the sound of a hair dryer, and other everyday experiences. Puppies leave for their new homes at 9 weeks of age, freshly bathed and well prepared for family life.

We believe it is important to emphasize that socialization and environmental exposure must be continued by the new owners. Our goal is to provide the strongest possible foundation for each puppy’s future.

From the very first days of life, we apply conscious and structured early development to our puppies. This includes both the ENS and ESI programs.

The Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) program is carried out during the earliest stage of a puppy’s life, between 3 and 16 days of age, and is based on short, carefully targeted stimuli. During this period, the nervous system develops extremely rapidly, which is why proper and controlled stimulation has measurable long-term positive effects on both the physical and mental development of the puppies.

Puppies that participate in the ENS program tend to grow into dogs that are:

more active, curious, and exploratory,
more confident when adapting to new environments and stimuli,
equipped with better problem-solving abilities,
easier to train and handle, thanks to a more balanced and stable nervous system.

The goal of ENS is not overstimulation, but rather the gentle, age-appropriate activation of the nervous system, which lays a solid foundation for the puppies’ future learning abilities, stress management, and overall mental stability.

Early Scent Intruduction - ESI

Early Scent Introduction (ESI) is a conscious and structured program that we carry out in parallel with the ENS period. At this early age, puppies’ nervous systems are extremely plastic, and although their vision and hearing are not yet developed, their sense of smell is already active and highly trainable.

During ESI, the puppies are introduced daily to different natural and safe scents (such as herbs, natural materials, soil, wood, mushrooms, cat hair, etc.). Each scent is presented individually and for a very short time, always in a calm and controlled manner, without overstimulation.

Benefits of ESI:

🐕 Facilitates future work and activities (search work, sports, truffle hunting, active lifestyles)

As a result of early, controlled scent experiences, puppies grow into more balanced, open-minded, and mentally stable dogs. ESI does not “teach” specific tasks; instead, it lays the foundation for future learning and helps puppies use their natural instincts in a confident and structured way.

Puppy Development Timeline

0-2 weeks

ENS, Photo session

During their first weeks of life, the puppies participate in the ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) program. These brief, age-appropriate exercises support neurological development, stress resilience, and adaptability later in life.

2-3 weeks

First devorming and nail trim

The puppies receive their first deworming treatment and have their tiny nails carefully trimmed to keep both them and their mother comfortable.

Their eyes begin to open, their hearing develops, and they start taking their first steps while exploring the world around them.

3-4weeks

Play, Exploration & Weaning, photo session

The weaning process begins, marking the start of early socialization and exposure to new experiences and stimuli. The puppies move from the whelping box to a larger puppy area, where plenty of new toys and opportunities for exploration await them. They become more confident in their movements and spend more and more time playing with their littermates.New Photo Session at Around 3–4 Weeks of Age.

5-6 weeks

Vaccination Program Begins, First Car Ride, First Grooming & Photo Session

The puppies begin their vaccination program. Their first vaccine is Nobivac DP Plus, one of the most advanced and safest vaccines currently available for protection against parvovirus. They also experience their first car ride and first grooming session, helping them develop positive associations with these important aspects of everyday life. New Photo Session at Around 5-6 Weeks of Age.

6-8 weeks

Temperament Testing & Family Matching

At 6 weeks of age, professional canine behavior specialist Belényi Bea conducts a temperament evaluation of each puppy. The assessment provides valuable insight into their individual personalities and helps identify puppies with show and breeding potential. Around 7 weeks of age, families are invited to visit our kennel and meet the puppies in person. Based on the temperament evaluation and the impressions from these meetings, puppy-owner matches are carefully made to ensure that each puppy is placed in the home best suited to its personality and needs.

8,5-9,5 weeks

Puppies Go Home

The long-awaited day has arrived: the puppies go home with their new families and begin their greatest adventure yet.
